Joanne has significant experience in grant assessment having held Grants Officer and Grants Manager positions at County Durham Community Foundation (CDCF), Community Fund and New Opportunities Fund. She is a former assessor for BBC Children in Need, an external assessor for two Big Lottery Fund programmes (Local Food and Ecominds) and has undertaken appraisals of national CVS projects for Charities Aid Foundation on behalf of the Finance Hub.
Joanne still undertakes freelance assessment work for CDCF. In 2009 she was contracted by the Foundation to manage the Targeted Support Fund in County Durham and Darlington and successfully distributed nearly £800k worth of grants in these two top tier local authorities within a two month timeframe.
In March 2010, Joanne was appointed as Trust Secretary for the Yapp Charitable Trust - a national grant making charity that distributes around £300k per year to small charities seeking help with core costs.
Joanne applies her extensive grant assessment experience to the principles of fundraising and has gained a phenomenal success rate in securing revenue based funding for core and project funding from lottery, statutory, public and voluntary sector sources.
